The Party

Chap Petersen
State Senate District 34
Chap Petersen has previously served as Delegate from his native Fairfax (in the seat now occupied by Del. David Bulova). Chap's four years in the legislature, preceded by his four years on the Fairfax City Council, gives him a solid base upon which to serve his constituents. Chap has an ambitious plan to help resolve Northern Virginia’s extensive traffic woes by securing the transportation trust fund, tying transportation revenue sources to transportation usage, incentives to increase rail usage to alleviate the strain on our highways, and working with VDOT to consolidate and better manage transportation issues statewide.
As a parent of several young children, Chap knows the importance of education quality. Chap will work hard to regularly update the Standards of Quality, establish full-day Kindergarten, simplify state funding, and once and for all removes the shackles of the unfunded No Child Left Behind Act.
Be sure to checkout Chap’s website for more detailed information on how he will make our state an even better place to live.
Chap is a graduate of Williams College, and went to law school at the University of Virginia. He is currently a Partner at the law firm of Surovell, Markle, Isaacs & Levy, PLC in Fairfax.
