DPVA Chair calls for resignation of US Postmaster General

by Democratic Party of Virginia

Richmond, VA - Following recent news of President Trump's efforts to sabotage the U.S. Postal Service, DPVA Chair Susan Swecker issued the following statement calling for the resignation of Postmaster General Louis DeJoy:

"It's abundantly clear that Donald Trump is actively sabotaging the U.S. Postal Service to make it as hard as possible for Americans to exercise their right to vote. His Postmaster General Louis DeJoy has deliberately enacted policies that hurt postal workers and disrupt the lives of millions of Americans by delaying the delivery of crucial medicine, Social Security checks, absentee ballots, and more. DeJoy, a major Trump donor, has failed the American people and hurt our democracy. He should resign immediately. The president's war on the Postal Service and all of us who rely on it has to stop."
