Democratic Party of Virginia (DPVA) Chairwoman Susan Swecker released the following statement in response to  Ed Gillespie & Carly Fiorina's event concerning Virginia's economy:

"Washington Insider Ed Gillespie's strategy is clear: bring in national Republicans to insult Virginians hard work in creating 147,700 jobs in the face of  sequestration. For Gillespie's event focused on 'job creation,' he partnered with Carly Fiorina, someone who was responsible for 30,000 layoffs at HP. Ed Gillespie is so out of touch with Virginia that it's laughable.

"Under Governor McAuliffe, Virginia has the lowest unemployment rate since 2008, 28 straight months of job growth, and was just ranked the 9th best economy in the country by Governing Magazine. The economic fabric of Virginia has thrived under Democrats, and we won't allow that progress be derailed by Republicans."
