Richmond, VA — Today, Governor Northam Virginia announced that 70% of Virginia adults have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Virginia’s monumental, ongoing progress in the fight against COVID-19 is a testament to Democratic leadership and the American Rescue Plan’s essential role in getting the country back on track.

Today’s news is also a reminder that Glenn Youngkin and Virginia Republicans have opposed this vital pandemic relief at every turn. Every single Virginia Republican in Congress voted against the American Rescue Plan, and Youngkin has repeatedly attacked President Biden’s proposal, even as it helps Virginia’s economic recovery and provided over $77 million for vaccination efforts in Virginia. 

The American Rescue Plan has delivered critical relief for working families, small businesses, and entire communities across Virginia -- but to Glenn Youngkin, it is “unnecessary.” The American Rescue Plan has provided a framework and a vital blueprint for beating the COVID-19 pandemic -- but Youngkin thinks it “absolutely is wrong.”
