Yesterday, Republican congressional candidate Mike Wade (VA-04) rationalized police shootings by saying individuals arrested and shot by police were already on the path to incarceration. This exchange occurred within the context of race and bias training.

"It is shocking to hear a congressional candidate be so cavalier toward police shootings, most of which involve African-American men. These comments are racist, unacceptable, and Mike Wade should immediately apologize for his remarks," said Emily Bolton, Communications Director of the Democratic Party of Virginia.
