*VIDEO* DPVA Releases ‘They’re Back,’ A Video Highlighting Republicans’ Flawed Priorities During the 2016 General Assembly Session

by Democratic Party of Virginia

In advance of tomorrow's veto session, the Democratic Party of Virginia (DPVA) released "They're Back" - a video reminder of Republicans' flawed priorities during the 2016 legislative session.

Between highly offensive tirades on the House floor, limiting the freedom of the press, passing anti-women, anti-LGBT bills, and the 11th hour Supreme Court nomination of Ken Cuccinelli, it's clear Republicans in the General Assembly were focused on political posturing, while ignoring the economic needs of middle class Virginians.

"Is it too much to ask that we get through one General Assembly session without Republicans making Virginia the subject of national ridicule?," said Emily Bolton, Communications Director of the Democratic Party of Virginia. "This video serves as a powerful reminder of where Virginia Republicans are headed. Virginia Republicans are fueled by the extremism of Donald Trump and Ted Cruz, they adopt bills written by special interest groups funded by the Koch Brothers, and they leave middle class Virginians out in the cold."

Virginians are grateful for Governor McAulliffe's commitment to protecting the middle class from legislation that harms economic and social opportunity in the Commonwealth.
