| CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Democratic Party of Virginia Chairwoman Susan Swecker congratulated Democratic nominee for lieutenant governor Justin Fairfax on winning today's debate against Jill Vogel at Piedmont Community College in Charlottesville:
“Justin Fairfax articulated a clear and positive vision of a Virginia in which everyone can achieve economic security and opportunity. He will work in strong partnership with Ralph Northam to continue to build on Governor McAuliffe’s record of building a New Virginia economy in which everyone, no matter who you are or where you’re from, can succeed. Meanwhile, Jill Vogel repeatedly gave answers that were inconsistent with her record. You cannot be for health care and oppose Medicaid expansion for 400,000 people. You cannot be for women’s health and yet introduce a bill that would force them to have transvaginal ultrasounds. Justin Fairfax knows that health care is a right and that the government has no place legislating women’s health care decisions. We look forward to electing him as our next Lieutenant Governor in November.” |
