Democratic Party of Virginia (DPVA) Chairwoman Susan Swecker released the following statement on Donald Trump choosing Mike Pence as his Vice Presidential pick:
"By selecting Mike Pence as his running mate, Donald Trump has effectively doubled the arguments against his presidency in Virginia. Mike Pence is the purveyor behind the original anti-LGBT bill that thwarted Indiana's economy, his record on women's health is abysmal, and just like Trump, his policies favor the wealthy while leaving working middle class Americans in the cold.
"Virginians reject discrimination, bigotry, and the other disgraceful rhetoric championed by Republicans during this election cycle - and they will reject Donald Trump and Mike Pence, the most extreme and dangerous Republican ticket to ever be presented to the American people."
