Washington Insider Ed Gillespie is set to attend the Republican National Convention in Cleveland next week. While candidates typically participate in public Party activities, Gillespie has been keeping a low profile back in Virginia in order to avoid talking about the Republican standard bearer, Donald Trump. For 40 days, Gillespie has refused to let Virginians know where he stands on Trump's rhetoric and dangerous policies.
"You either support Trump's rhetoric and dangerous policies or you don't, and Washington Insider Ed Gillespie has been ducking the hard questions from day one," said Emily Bolton, Communications Director of the Democratic Party of Virginia. "Gillespie is clearly more comfortable spending time with National Republicans in Cleveland than answering Virginians questions about whether he condones Trump's racist comments. We've come to expect nothing less from a Washington Insider like Ed Gillespie."
