The Democratic Party of Virginia (DPVA) Chairwoman Susan Swecker issued the following statement regarding Kai Degner’s victory in the 6th Congressional Debate:

"The difference between these two candidates could not be clearer. While Congressman Goodlatte promises more of the same policies that lead to gridlock in Congress, Kai Degner laid out a fresh, new vision for the 6th Congressional District. Kai would be a great leader for our changing Commonwealth and he's laser-focused on addressing the issues that affect families in the 6th district. Today, Kai Degner proved that he would bring renewed energy and be an excellent representative for Virginians. Congressman Goodlatte would bring nothing more than the same old broken promises."
