In a move signaling the increasing desperation of her campaign, Nancy Dye took Grover Norquist's pledge to sign away the 21st Senate District seat to the do-nothing right wing of the Republican Party. Adhering to his zero-tolerance policy for tax compromise proves Dye is out of step with the 21st District, where voters deserve better schools, more affordable higher education, and an improved transportation system.
Dye's pledge is the latest step showing she's beholden to a bevy of special interest mega-donors, including the Koch brothers and their Americans for Prosperity PAC. This ironclad no-tax pledge is fiscally irresponsible and would make it more difficult to improve our schools, make college more affordable, and fix our roads.
"Has no one told Nancy Dye that Grover Norquist pledges are so three years ago? Dye needs to answer to voters in the district, not Norquist, the Koch brothers and whoever else comes calling," said Morgan Finkelstein, press secretary for the Democratic Party of Virginia.
