Richmond, VA – Jen Kiggans is under fire for voting against a bill that would crack down on predatory loan practices that target military members and their families – after she took $20,000 from a PAC funded by the predatory payday loan industry.
During an interview with WAVY 10, when asked why she took the predatory loan industry’s money and then voted against protecting military members and their families, Kiggans refused to respond and eventually abruptly cut the interview short.
As WAVY reports: “11 times, we asked Senator Kiggans why she voted against … the Virginia Fairness In Lending Act. 11 times, she refused to answer, giving statements unrelated to the reasons why she voted no.”
“Jen Kiggans can’t run away from her record of voting against our veterans and their families,” said DPVA Spokesperson Gianni Snidle. “It’s clear Jen Kiggans’ loyalties lie with her special interest donors rather than Coastal Virginians.”
