TONIGHT: Accused Sex-Abuse Enabler Jim Jordan to Headline Dave Brat Event
RICHMOND, Va. – Tonight at a country club in Arlington, Rep. Jim Jordan, who has been accused by at least half a dozen wrestlers of turning a blind eye to sexual abuse by a team doctor during Jordan’s tenure as an assistant coach at Ohio State, will headline a fundraiser for Rep. Dave Brat.
"It is unthinkable that a member of Congress would campaign with a man who stands accused by multiple victims of turning a blind eye to sexual abuse," said DPVA spokesman Jake Rubenstein. "Congressman Jordan has also suggested that the wrestlers are part of a deep state conspiracy against him, and he has reportedly even pressured the wrestlers to recant. The Democratic Party of Virginia strongly condemns Congressman Brat for inviting an accused sex-abuse enabler to raise money for him."
It was reported last month that the U.S. Department of Education has opened an investigation into how Ohio State handled allegations of abuse, including, according to a spokeswoman for the Department, allegations that employees "knew or should have known about the sexual misconduct and allowed the abuse to continue."
