RICHMOND - Virginia Democratic Party Press Secretary Hannah Muldavin released the following statement after the Trump campaign today made public President Trump’s 60 Minutes interview where he told Leslie Stahl “I hope that they end it” in reference to the case his administration is bringing before the Supreme Court a week after the election that could dismantle the Affordable Care Act.
“With less than two weeks remaining in the campaign, it’s clear that President Trump’s final message is the same one he’s been using for the last four years: he hopes to end Americans’ health care as we know it, and he still doesn’t have a plan to replace it. If the Supreme Court follows through on Trump’s hopes and sides with his lawsuit to strike down the Affordable Care Act, 3.5 million Virginians with pre-existing conditions like diabetes, asthma, or COVID-19 will be at risk of losing their health care. Trump has never been afraid to say the quiet part out loud, so now that he’s done just that on health care, it’s our turn: on November 3rd, Virginians are going to end his incompetent administration.”
