Youngkin refuses to debate and dodges questions from the Virginia press corps. Why?

Richmond, VA — Glenn Youngkin is a coward. After getting caught telling Virginians his entire campaign strategy is to lie about his far-right agenda, Youngkin has taken to hiding from further questions. Last week, Youngkin became the first gubernatorial nominee in 36 years to skip the time-honored tradition Virginia Bar Association debate. Now, new reporting is highlighting that Youngkin is completely unprepared to answer for his extreme views.

“At a campaign event in McLean aimed at female voters with former U.N. ambassador Nikki Haley, Republican candidate for governor Glenn Youngkin spoke about a number of issues. But one issue was not on the agenda: abortion. After the event, Youngkin declined to answer questions about his position on restoring restrictions aimed at limiting abortions. Many women in the audience here at the event say they think he probably would restore those restrictions. [...]

VPM: Glenn Youngkin’s Policies Remain Elusive Six Months Into Campaign

“The dearth of specifics on Youngkin’s stances stand out in part because of the reams of policy proposals put out by McAuliffe.” 

Yesterday, Youngkin was also caught on camera running away from reporters at his own event. This embarrassing footage is a testament to Youngkin’s weak, timid candidacy. He has made clear that he is unprepared to defend his hardline right-wing agenda and by his own admission, Virginians shouldn’t trust a single word he says. 

“While Glenn Youngkin attempts to hide from his toxic positions, the truth has been made clear: he is advancing an extreme right wing agenda,” said Manuel Bonder, DPVA spokesman. “Youngkin is completely out of his league -- and due to his own admission that he plans to lie about his dangerous views, Virginians are wondering: what else is Glenn hiding?”
