New reporting details Youngkin’s agenda of opposing abortion rights and rolling back common sense efforts to stop gun violence
Richmond, VA — Today, new reporting from The Washington Post details Glenn Youngkin’s attempts to hide how extreme and out of touch he truly is when it comes to reproductive rights and gun policy, adding that he’s been trying to hide: “Youngkin has gone relatively mum.”
Despite Youngkin’s pathetic failure to answer questions about his views on these critical issues -- such as whether he’d sign state-level protections into law if Roe v. Wade is overturned -- he has already told Virginians that he steadfastly opposes abortion rights and wants to roll back and block all common sense efforts to stop gun violence.
“I will not sign a piece of legislation that has anything to do with imposing limitations on our Second Amendment.” —Glenn Youngkin
While he attempts to hide where he stands from all Virginians, Youngkin is meeting with extreme anti-abortion groups that are dead-set on overturning Roe v. Wade and making promises behind closed doors. Prominent abortion rights opponents are already touting the fact that they have Youngkin’s commitment to advance their extreme anti-choice agenda.
“Youngkin is peddling an extreme agenda that will put Virginians’ health and safety at stake -- and he cannot hide from that fact,” said Manuel Bonder, DPVA spokesman. “Instead of making secret promises to force a far-right agenda on Virginia, Glenn Youngkin should come clean on key issues such as whether he’d sign state-level protections for Roe v. Wade into law if it is overturned. Youngkin’s pathetic attempt to hide his extreme views is an insult to Virginia voters.”
