TRUMP: Youngkin Wrote Me a “Beautiful” Thank You Letter For His 2021 Victory, I Am The Reason Why He Won

by Democratic Party of Virginia

Richmond, VA – In a recent interview this morning on The John Fredericks Radio Network, former President Trump says that Governor Glenn Youngkin wrote him a “beautiful” thank you letter for his 2021 gubernatorial victory. Trump also claims that he was the sole reason why Governor Youngkin won the Republican nomination and the entire race.

Here’s the full transcript:

John Fredericks: You are the reason Glenn Youngkin is the Governor of Virginia because had you not gotten involved in it Terry McAuliffe wins hands down.

Trump: No chance…By the way, he wrote me a beautiful letter thanking me and all. I will tell you that right upfront. He was very nice, but Youngkin would not have won the race – not even close.

I did a teleconference call to the state. We had a tremendous number of people – hundreds of thousands of people and everyone one of those people went out and voted.

No he would’ve lost, and MAGA was really excited about that when I did that. And they [Youngkin] acknowledged that.

You know, the press tried to say ‘this is a new type of way of campaigning without Trump,’ I mean they asked me to do a teleconference call the night before the election.

We did a lot of endorsements, a lot of endorsements of him and we worked on that. And he [Youngkin] was gracious. The media wasn’t gracious because the media is corrupt so they tried to say Trump didn’t help him and he won.

That’s not true without the help he wouldn’t have won nor would he have gotten the nomination by the way.

“Glenn Trumpkin…..he never left us,” said DPVA Spokesperson Gianni Snidle. “Don’t take it from us, take it from the former President, Gov. Youngkin attempted to distance himself from Trump publicly, but all along he was working with the President and needed him to win. Gov. Youngkin isn’t some mild-mannered moderate, he is a MAGA Governor who is attempting to bring far-right policy to Virginia.”
