RICHMOND, VA – As CBS News reported last night, billionaire donors put another $4.4 million into winning the 2023 elections for MAGA extremists in the last 48 hours. This comes on top of previous million dollar donations that have already been made. 

Their goal is to get total control of the state Senate and House of Delegates - giving complete control of state government to the extreme MAGA Republicans to enact their agenda. 

“Billionaires, with little or no connection to Virginia or the women who live here, are trying to buy an abortion ban in Virginia,” said DPVA Chairwoman Susan Swecker. “They know voters don’t want total MAGA control of state government because that means taking away our rights and freedoms. But, they’re hoping massive, out-of-state dollars can defeat what the vast majority of our people want and give them total control to enact an abortion ban. The stakes of this election are high, the consequences are real, and the billionaire-funded MAGA campaigns are a threat to every Virginian. We see what these extremists are doing in Congress. We need to show up to the polls and prove to Republicans that all the money in the world cannot buy them an abortion ban.”
