Virginia’s economy “rip-roaring” under strong Democratic leadership
Richmond, VA — Today, CNBC released its Top States for Business 2021 rankings and once again, Virginia was ranked at the top of the list.
This news is yet another testament to the strong leadership of Governor Northam and Virginia Democrats. In response to CNBC’s ranking of Virginia as the Top State for Business, DPVA Chairwoman Susan Swecker released the following statement:
“Over the past eight years, Democratic leadership has taken Virginia to the next level. Governors Terry McAuliffe and Ralph Northam have led the way, and with Democrats’ dedication to lifting up all Virginians, we are emerging from the pandemic with a bright future ahead. Today and every day, Virginia Democrats remain committed to rebuilding stronger than before -- and that starts with winning this November.
“It’s a bad day for right-wing Republicans like Glenn Youngkin who are threatening to drag Virginia backwards. Instead of working together, Youngkin and the Virginia GOP have incoherently argued that our commonwealth is ‘in the ditch’ and attacked the progress we have made. Now, Youngkin is advancing a far-right agenda that would make Virginia less inclusive and put all of this progress at risk.”
