Richmond, VA – Just weeks ago, Governor Youngkin said he’ll “gleefully” sign any abortion ban that comes across his desk. With his recent endorsement of Jen Kiggans, Coastal Virginias deserve to know: How far will Jen Kiggans go to restrict reproductive rights?

Jen Kiggans needs to answer the following questions:

Does she also support a full abortion ban in Virginia? 

Does she believe abortion should be illegal even in cases of rape, incest or life-threatening pregnancies?

Does she support a nationwide ban on abortion? 

Jen Kiggans has made opposing reproductive rights one of the core issues of her candidacy, and her agenda to end abortion access is even more dangerous in the wake of the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade.

In addition to cheering the end of Roe, Kiggans has promoted false claims about “infanticide” and consistently voted against legislation to expand access to abortion.

“After taking the endorsement of Governor Youngkin, Coastal Virginians deserve to know if Jen Kiggans also hopes to make abortion illegal for millions of Virginia women,” said DPVA spokesperson Gianni Snidle. “Kiggans knows her anti-abortion extremism is out of touch with Coastal Virginians and she needs to come clean about just how far she will go to chip away at their right to reproductive health care.”
