RICHMOND – The Democratic Party of Virginia (DPVA) is announcing the allocation of National Delegates to the Democratic National Convention based on the results of the 2024 Virginia Democratic Presidential Primary.
President Joe Biden won all 99 Delegates that were at stake in the 2024 Virginia Democratic Presidential Primary. The allocation of Delegates are as follows:
District-level Delegates (65 total)
First Congressional District: All 6 District-Level Delegates will be pledged to President Joe Biden
Second Congressional District: All 6 District-Level Delegates will be pledged to President Joe Biden
Third Congressional District: All 6 District-Level Delegates will be pledged to President Joe Biden
Fourth Congressional District: All 6 District-Level Delegates will be pledged to President Joe Biden
Fifth Congressional District: All 5 District-Level Delegates will be pledged to President Joe Biden
Sixth Congressional District: All 4 District-Level Delegates will be pledged to President Joe Biden
Seventh Congressional District: All 6 District-Level Delegates will be pledged to President Joe Biden
Eighth Congressional District: All 8 District-Level Delegates will be pledged to President Joe Biden
Ninth Congressional District: All 3 District-Level Delegates will be pledged to President Joe Biden
Tenth Congressional District: All 6 District-Level Delegates will be pledged to President Joe Biden
Eleventh Congressional District: All 8 District-Level Delegates will be pledged to President Joe Biden
At-Large Delegates (21 total)
All 21 At-Large Delegates will be pledged to President Joe Biden
Party Leader and Elected Official (PLEO) Delegates (13 total)
All 13 At-Large PLEO Delegates will be pledged to President Joe Biden
To qualify for At-Large and PLEO Delegates, candidates in the Presidential Primary had to receive at least 15% of the vote statewide.To qualify for District-Level Delegates for a Congressional District, candidates had to receive at least 15% of the vote in a Congressional District to qualify.
Virginia will be sending 99 Delegates total to the 2024 Democratic National Convention – in addition to the 99 Delegates allocated, Virginia has 19 Automatic Delegates we will also be sending.
