RICHMOND, VA – After 25 years, the founder and executive director of the Virginia Public Access Project, or VPAP, David Poole, has announced his decision to retire.

On the occasion of his retirement, and to honor his long and distinguished career in journalism and public service, DPVA Chairwoman Susan Swecker issued the following statement:

“David Poole found his vocation in connecting Virginians with their government, ensuring Virginia’s leadership is accountable and transparent. Every Virginian – be they a politician, politico, or voter – has reaped the benefits of David’s hard work.

The information and transparency that David provided Virginians has created a legacy that will live on in our public discourse. The staff of the Democratic Party of Virginia and I wish him well as he embarks on the journey of his retirement, and thank him for making our Commonwealth even stronger.”
