Richmond, VA – The Virginia Democratic Party Chairwoman Susan Swecker released the following statement on the Virginia 2022 primary elections.

“The difference in this election could not be more clear. Republicans in VA-02 and VA-07 nominated far-right extremists and conspiracy theorists who have no place in Congress. Jen Kiggans’ and Yesli Vega’s extreme positions of supporting abortion bans and tossing out Virginians’ votes are a danger to our Commonwealth and Country. Virginians deserve better. 

“Virginia Democrats are fired up to send back our Democratic delegation this November. Rep. Elaine Luria and Rep. Abigail Spanberger have proven track records of delivering for everyday Virginians and will continue to do so in Congress. Virginians will proudly re-elect them so they can continue their work of creating jobs, lowering costs for families, protecting a woman’s right to reproductive health care, and keeping our communities safe.”
