Richmond, VA – Yesterday, Ohio voters cast their ballots in a special election, stopping in its tracks the GOP’s thinly veiled attempt to make it harder for Ohioans to protect their right to choose.
Pro-choice Ohioans’ victory yesterday is the latest in a series of defeats for far-right anti-choice extremists. After yesterday’s victory for Ohio Democrats, DPVA Chairwoman Susan Swecker released the following statement:
“Yesterday’s victory was a huge win for pro-choice Ohioans and a resounding defeat for the right-wing extremists who wanted to raise the threshold to pass a constitutional amendment protecting the right to choose. The next battleground for reproductive rights is Virginia.
Make no mistake about it: the Virginia General Assembly elections this November are about whether or not the far-right will be able to strip Virginians of their right to choose.”
