by Democratic Party of Virginia

RICHMOND, VA – Today, Virginia Democrats across the Commonwealth have begun to head to the polls to cast their ballots for the June 20, 2023 Democratic Primary. These primary elections will determine the Democratic nominees for the House of Delegates and the Virginia Senate, as well as local constitutional offices.

“Virginia Democrats have 45 days to cast their ballots in this primary election – whether in-person, or with a mail-in absentee ballot. Not every district has a primary, and each locality is different, so we encourage voters to check with their local registrar for more details about when and how to cast their ballots,” said Katie O’Grady, Data Director for the Democratic Party of Virginia.

“Thanks to the hard work of Democrats in the General Assembly, voting is now more accessible than ever before,” said Liam Watson, Press Secretary for the Democratic Party of Virginia. “We are proud to be choosing our nominees in the most democratic way possible, and we can’t wait to support the great nominees chosen by our voters.”
