Fourth Congressional District Democratic Committee Releases Voting Details for December 20, 2022 Firehouse Primary

Richmond, VA – Today, the Fourth Congressional District Democratic Committee released their Call to Caucus for the Firehouse Primary to be held on December 20, 2022.

The Call to Caucus outlines the details of how voters can cast their ballot and how candidates can file to be a candidate in the Firehouse Primary.

On December 20, 2022, polls will be open from 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Any person who considers themselves a Democrat and is a registered voter of the Fourth Congressional District can cast their ballot at any of these locations:

  • Brunswick Conference Center - 100 Athletic Field Rd, Lawrenceville, Virginia 23868
  • Dogtown Dance Studio - 109 W 15th St, Richmond, VA 23224
  • Diversity Richmond - 1407 Sherwood Ave, Richmond, VA 23220
  • IBEW Local 666 - 1390 E Nine Mile Rd, Highland Springs VA 23075
  • Tabernacle Baptist Church - 444 Halifax St, Petersburg, VA 23803

Voters will need to bring one of the same methods of identification that are required to vote in a state-run election.

To become a candidate, individuals must complete the declaration of candidacy linked in the Call to Caucus, at least 150 signatures from registered voters of the Fourth Congressional District, and the candidate filing fee, which is set at two percent of the starting salary of a Member of Congress, or $3,480. Candidates may file from 5:00 PM today, December 13, 2022 until 12:00 PM on Friday, December 16, 2022.

“Democratic Party volunteers will run this nomination contest, and our focus is on making sure this process is run as smoothly and transparently as possible for candidates and voters alike,” said Alexsis Rodgers, the Chairwoman of the Fourth Congressional District.
