Today, Glenn Youngkin held a press conference doubling down on his support for Donald Trump’s attacks on Virginia’s workforce and economy. Youngkin repeated his call for the 300,000+ Virginians at risk of losing their jobs to update their resumes, search for jobs on LinkedIn and Indeed, and even uproot their families to find new jobs in other parts of Virginia. He also claimed that Virginia is “competing to win” as experts warn of a regional recession and unemployment numbers spike, as reported by Axios this week.

“Virginia is not winning—Virginia is losing because of Glenn Youngkin’s weak and ineffective leadership and refusal to stand up to Donald Trump,” DPVA Chairwoman Susan Swecker said. “Over 300,000 Virginians are at risk of losing their jobs and his only answer is for them to update their resumes and look for jobs online. It is embarrassing and quite frankly irresponsible for a governor to offer such out-of-touch and arrogant nonsense to hardworking Virginians facing an economic crisis.”
