Glenn Youngkin’s Running Mate and Amanda Chase to Rally Together With Steve Bannon and QAnon Conspiracy Theorists This Week

by Democratic Party of Virginia

Richmond, VA — This week, former Trump administration official Steve Bannon and will be in Virginia to rally with Winsome Sears and known extremist Amanda Chase at the “Take Back Virginia Rally” hosted by right-wing radio host John Fredericks. Joining them will be prominent QAnon election conspiracy theorist Mark Finchem, who attended the January 6th insurrection.

Sears and Chase will headline the rally with Bannon, an architect behind Donald Trump’s dangerous election conspiracy theories—which Glenn Youngkin has said is the “most important issue” of his campaign. Just last week, Glenn called for an “audit” of Virginia’s voting machines in order to continue casting doubt on Virginia’s election results, despite the fact that Virginia’s election results have already been audited and confirmed, and he was once again endorsed by Trump for his efforts.

Youngkin launched his campaign with an “election integrity task force,” and has spent months lying about the 2020 election. This summer, Youngkin headlined an insurrectionist-sponsored “election integrity” rally. This came after Youngkin suggested that the disgraced former president could be reinstated into office.

The extreme right-wing rally with Sears and Chase comes on the heels of Bannon’s refusal to comply with subpoenas from the House select committee tasked with investigating the Capitol insurrection on January 6. Bannon will defy the subpoenas from the House committee based on Trump’s ‘direction.’

“Rallying with Steve Bannon, one of the main architects behind the Big Lie, and an extreme QAnon darling who continues to push dangerous election integrity lies and conspiracies is truly who Glenn Youngkin’s GOP is,” Democratic Party of Virginia Communications Director Jayce Genco said. “The people of Virginia deserve an answer from Glenn for his running mate participating in this extreme, right-wing rally. This kind of rhetoric is dangerous and puts lives at risk, and Virginia deserves better than Steve Bannon and Glenn Youngkin.”
