RICHMOND, VA – GOP Senator Siobhan Dunnavant was conspicuously absent from her assignment on the Virginia Senate’s Education and Health Committee meeting this morning as the committee took up three anti-abortion bills, including her own 24-week abortion ban.

“If Senator Dunnavant now believes that the GOP should not restrict the rights of Virginian women, then we invite her to share this change of heart with her constituents. Otherwise, we encourage her to show up for votes on her own bills and stop trying to hide her policy agenda,” said Liam Watson, Press Secretary of the Democratic Party of Virginia.

The Education and Health Committee rejected each of the abortion bans that came before it this morning as the Senate Democratic majority delivers on its promise to protect Virginian women from further restrictions on reproductive freedom.
