Richmond, VA — Today, DPVA Chair Susan Swecker led a virtual press conference in response to Glenn Youngkin keynoting the upcoming GOP “Election Integrity” rally.
As was recently reported, Youngkin recently suggested that the disgraced former president could be reinstated into office. Heading into his big rally, Glenn Youngkin has repeatedly been slammed for his adherence to these far-right election conspiracy theories.

DPVA Chairwoman Susan Swecker
As most of you know, Glenn Youngkin is headlining an “Election Integrity” rally tomorrow — a rally inspired by Donald Trump's conspiracy theory that led to a deadly insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.
The entire event is based around the idea that Joe Biden was not duly elected President, a divisive and dangerous conspiracy theory that Glenn Youngkin has focused his entire candidacy on. [...]
This is not leadership. Glenn’s extremist views are out of touch with Virginians and threaten our democracy.
Glenn, Terry McAuliffe called on you to step down from this dangerous rally and you didn’t — even as the other extreme members of the GOP ticket removed themselves from this event.
Glenn’s not a leader, he’s a Donald Trump loyalist who will peddle his lies at the expense of our democratic values and Americans’ lives.
Glenn even said it himself, calling his election integrity plan “the most important issue.”
He has repeatedly praised Donald Trump, saying Trump ‘represents so much of why’ he’s running.
The fact is, this is who Glenn Youngkin really is.
Just this week, we learned that Youngkin suggested the courts could reinstate Trump into office -- further pedaling the GOP’s dangerous lies just 3 months from the November gubernatorial election.
When given the opportunity to choose Virginians or Donald Trump, Glenn chooses Trump every time. If Glenn has any respect for the truth or Virginians, he wouldn’t be headlining in this extremist rally.
Virginians deserve a leader who will tell the truth, act with integrity, and respect the office they seek to hold.
Glenn Youngkin is not that leader, and his participation in the rally tomorrow is a dangerous mistake.
