Yesterday, the U.S. Court of International Trade struck down many of Donald Trump’s reckless tariffs after 12 attorneys general took the administration to court—an effort that Attorney General Jason Miyares refused to join. The lawsuit led to a ruling that not only halts many of these dangerous tariffs but also prevents Trump from increasing others, including the tariffs on imports from China and the European Union.

“While attorneys general across the country successfully defended working families and small businesses from the devastation of Donald Trump’s reckless tariffs, Jason Miyares chose MAGA loyalty over Virginians,” said DPVA Communications Director Kelsey Carolan. “Virginians deserve an Attorney General who will fight for them, not sit on the sidelines when it’s clear that economic livelihoods and Virginia jobs are on the line.”
