Local Veterans, Elected Leaders Hold Roundtable Discussion Highlighting Devastating Impacts of  Trump’s Job Cuts

by DPVA Press

NORFOLK, VIRGINIA – Last week, local veterans and elected leaders held a roundtable discussion highlighting the devastating impact of Donald Trump’s job cuts in Virginia that Winsome Earle-Sears backs.

During an interview with CNN when asked about Trump’s job cuts, Sears said they aren’t “real issues” despite the harm Virginians are facing.

VoteVets hosted the roundtable in collaboration with the Democratic Party of Virginia.

“As an elected leader and a Virginia veteran, it’s been troubling to see how Donald Trump’s policies are hurting veterans and military families, and that Winsome Earle-Sears has cheered them on,” said Delegate Michael Feggans, U.S. Air Force Veteran. “Today’s conversation is a reminder that these are real issues that deserve real solutions.”

“Virginia veterans aren’t just waiting on doctors’ appointments. We’re fighting to transition into civilian life, battling gaps in mental health care, and watching too many brothers and sisters end up without housing,” said Delegate Jackie Hope Glass, U.S. Navy Veteran. “These issues aren’t new, however, this administration has poured salt in the wound. We deserve leaders who don’t dismiss us, but choose to fight for us, listen to us, and deliver real solutions to our very real problems.”
