VIRGINIA – After a report revealed the social media account linked to John Reid engaged with “disturbing imagery” that “fetishized Nazism and sexual violence” as well as themes of slavery and bondage, Virginians deserve answers from Gov. Youngkin if these shocking revelations are what he saw and does he condemn the vile content associated with John Reid.

This spring, Gov. Glenn Youngkin quickly called on John Reid to drop his campaign for Lieutenant Governor due to “sexually explicit posts online that [Republicans] believe are connected to Reid.” Now, Youngkin has no comment if he still has confidence in Reid.

And then state Democrats came out with a headline this week titled, “Social Media Account Linked to John Reid Engaged with Slave Fetish And Nazi Porn Accounts.”

Reid denies the allegations, much like he did earlier this year, after Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin asked him to step off the ticket due to questionable posts on a Tumblr account created in 2014.

“I understand why Glenn Youngkin is upset,” said Del. Mike Jones, D-77th District. “I get it now. Before, all right hey, Republicans are being prudes. No. I see why Glenn’s upset now,”

Anchor: An account on a predominantly gay social media site which interacted with racist and anti semitic content and which allegedly was connected to Reid.

Anchor: Ironically, this allegation first surfaced during the Republican primary months ago, put forward by a Conservative Political Action Committee. Governor Youngkin, at the time, called for Reid to drop out of the race.

Current Republican Lieutenant Governor candidate John Reid is being accused of fetishizing Nazism and sexual violence on the same explicit Tumblr account that prompted Governor Glenn Youngkin to call on Reid to end his bid for the GOP Lieutenant Governor nomination back in April.

The Tumblr account allegedly featured themes of slavery and bondage as well.

During a press conference this week, Democratic State Delegate Mike Jones said Reid needs to end his campaign.

“John Reid's track record shows he is comfortable with white supremacy. That's the one thing I took away from it. Now, it looks like he's fine with it showing up on a social media feed. According to these reports, he seems to have engaged in white supremacist extremism and sexualized violence on social media and reposted content from these particular accounts.”

Democratic State Senator Adam Ebbin says the allegations against Reed come amid an increase in antisemitic incidents across the country.

“There's no place for white supremacist extremism or sexualized violence in any situation, especially among government leaders [...] Governor Youngkin seems to have known the truth for a while.

Later in the day, a Democratic activist group posted more information about a Tumblr account that shares the same username as Republican lieutenant governor John Reid’s personal Instagram account.

Reid denies the account is his, as I have reported hundreds of times; however, this new information shows a repost from the alleged Reid Tumblr account of a post from a racist account that uses the “N” word in its username.

Speaker of the House Don Scott, a Democrat, then responded to Youngkin in a post on social media.

“He’s got a guy on the Republican ticket allegedly viewing gay Nazi porn! GTFOH! Why don’t you ask John Reid to resign (again)?! Investigate that! And tell your leader to release the Epstein files!”

John Reid has found himself in quite a scandal, as others call on him to resign from the race.

Republican nominee John Reid faces fresh scrutiny surrounding a Tumblr blog, allegedly linked to him, that contained pornographic content. Reid denies ownership of the profile, which has the same username as other social media accounts of his: “JRDeux.”

When that news broke, Reid, who is gay, persisted with his campaign despite Republican Governor Glenn Youngkin urging him to drop out.

On Wednesday, American Journal News unearthed additional details about the “JRDeux” Tumblr profile. In October 2015, the blog reposted an image of “a male college student in underwear,” which was published by a Nazi fetish account with a racial slur in its username; it contained the phrase “obedient n—.”

“The accounts that Reid appears to have promoted and engaged with are full of hateful, racist, bigoted imagery,” said Virginia Delegate Mike Jones. “John Reid’s track record shows he is comfortable with white supremacy. Now, it looks like he’s fine with it showing up on his social media feed.”

“The news of the racist, antisemitic online content linked to John Reid on a social media account is appalling and shameless,” said state Senator Adam Ebbin. “They reveal John Reid has a disturbing level of comfort with disgusting, dehumanizing ideologies.”

Advocate: Virginia Democrats call for Republican John Reid to exit lieutenant governor race in Nazi porn scandal

Virginia Republican lieutenant governor nominee John Reid is facing mounting political pressure after a report tied him to a Tumblr blog that reposted Nazi-themed pornography and violent sexual content. The allegations, which Reid has denied, have fueled fresh calls for his withdrawal from the race.

An American Journal News investigation linked Reid to a Tumblr account, “JRDeux,” that amplified content by another user who posted swastikas, white supremacist slogans, and sexual violence. Among the accounts engaged were profiles trafficking in racial slurs, bondage fantasies, and overt Nazi fetishism, the outlet reports.

On Wednesday, Democratic state lawmakers convened a press conference to condemn the revelations. Delegate Mike Jones described the alleged activity as “hateful, racist, and bigoted imagery” and said, “To seek pleasure from themes of slavery and bondage is sick. It’s disgusting, too disgusting to even put into words.”

He argued that Reid “owes Virginians answers and an apology” and pointed to his record as a radio host, where he once compared abortion to slavery.

Sen. Adam Ebbin said the report revealed “a disturbing level of comfort with a pattern of disgusting, dehumanizing ideologies,” noting that the Tumblr account engaged with “white power pornography and the same dog whistles used by Nazis.”

He declared Reid “clearly not fit to be our lieutenant governor,” warning that such behavior “is dangerous” and undermines Virginians’ trust in leadership.

An archived version of the Tumblr site reviewed by The Advocate shows that, as far back as 2014, the user posted gay erotica, including images of Austin Wolf, the former gay adult star who, this week, was sentenced to 19 years in prison for enticing a minor for sex.

Republican Gov. Glenn Youngkin has previously called for Reid to withdraw, while other Republicans remained publicly silent.

But his place on the Republican ticket has always been fraught. Reid is running alongside gubernatorial nominee and current lieutenant governor, Winsome Earle-Sears, who has described homosexuality as an “immoral lifestyle choice.”
