More than 200,000 Virginians are at risk of losing access to affordable healthcare
VIRGINIA – Today is the 7th anniversary of the Virginia General Assembly voting for Medicaid expansion in the Commonwealth, which serves as a reminder that Winsome Earle-Sears has remained silent following Republicans voting for cuts to Medicaid as part of Donald Trump's agenda. Sears has declined to comment on the proposed cuts which would result in more than 200,000 Virginians losing their insurance.
“7 years ago, Democrats in Virginia passed Medicaid expansion delivering access to affordable healthcare to more Virginians. Now as Republicans in Congress threaten cuts to Medicaid putting thousands of Virginians’ access to affordable healthcare at risk, Winsome Earle-Sears has stayed silent instead of speaking out against the cuts,” said DPVA Spokesperson Maggie Amjad.
