John Reid: “There's no question Winsome is not supportive of gay marriage”
VIRGINIA – In a new interview with WSET ABC 13, John Reid doubles down that Winsome Earle-Sears is against gay marriage. Reid says, “There's no question Winsome is not supportive of gay marriage.” This interview follows his previous comments that Sears is “100% against” gay marriage and a major moment in the gubernatorial debate when Sears said opposing gay marriage and letting Virginians be fired for being gay is “not discrimination.”

Transcript:
- Reporter: Another big difference between Reid and Sears, the topic of same-sex marriage a main issue in last week's debate.
- Abigail Spanberger during gubernatorial debate: My opponent was asked about her record of discrimination, and importantly, my opponent has previously said that she does not think that gay couples should be allowed to marry. She has said that she is quote, unquote, morally opposed to gay marriage. My opponent has also previously said that she thinks it's okay for someone to be fired from their job for being gay.
- Winsome Earle-Sears during gubernatorial debate: That's not discrimination.
- Reporter: I asked Reid about this exchange. She said it's not discriminatory to fire people based on them being gay or not. What do you say to that?
- John Reid: Yeah, [...]. There's no question Winsome is not supportive of gay marriage. Does that hurt my feelings a little bit? Sure, it's okay.
