VIRGINIA  – Yesterday, as Winsome Earle-Sears’ campaign held a bus tour event, Virginians called out Sears for backing the Trump tax law that will take healthcare away from 350,000 Virginians, force at least six rural hospitals to close, and has already led to the closing of three rural clinics in Virginia —  except Sears didn’t show up.

WHSV reported:

“Union workers with Service Employees International Union of Virginia and other community members stood alongside the campaign event attendees — which did not include an appearance by Earle-Sears herself — to protest against what they called “devastating” Medicaid cuts.”

  • WHSV attempted to interview supporters for Earle-Sears’ campaign, but their requests were blocked.

  • SEIU VA has planned multiple events across the state to protest healthcare cuts and plans to attend various other rallies.
  • Laura Packard is a stage four cancer survivor who said that the Affordable Care Act saved her life. A protestor at the event, she highlighted Earle-Sears’ support of the One Big Beautiful Bill as their reason to protest local events.
