Del. Jones Calls On Reid To End His Run For Lt. Governor Due To His Ties To Extremist Social Media Behavior
New Report Details The “Disturbing Imagery” In The Social Media Account That Led Gov. Youngkin To Call On John Reid To Drop Out
American Journal News: “A pornographic blog linked to Virginia lieutenant governor candidate John Reid shared content from accounts that fetishized Nazism and sexual violence.”
VIRGINIA – After a new report revealed the social media account linked to John Reid engaged with disturbing online accounts with “disturbing imagery” fetishizing slavery and Nazism, Senator Adam Ebbin and Delegate Mike Jones slammed Reid on a press call for his comfortability with online content filled with white supremacist extremism and antisemitism.
This shocking revelation follows controversy earlier this year when the social media account first came to light. This spring, Gov. Youngkin quickly called on John Reid to drop his campaign for Lieutenant Governor due to “sexually explicit posts online that [Republicans] believe are connected to Reid.”

“The accounts that Reid appears to have promoted and engaged with are full of hateful, racist, bigoted imagery,” said Del. Jones. “John Reid’s track record shows he is comfortable with white supremacy. Now, it looks like he’s fine with it showing up on his social media feed. This disturbing behavior is unacceptable from anyone, especially from someone running to represent all Virginians. I am calling on John Reid to end his campaign.”
“The news of the racist, antisemitic online content linked to John Reid on a social media account is appalling and shameless,” said Sen. Ebbin. “They reveal John Reid has a disturbing level of comfort with disgusting, dehumanizing ideologies. There is no place for white supremacist extremism or sexualized violence in any situation, especially in our government. Virginians do not want a lieutenant governor who is associated with such vile online content.”
