Yesterday, Democratic Party of Virginia (DPVA) Chairwoman Susan Swecker joined Bruce DePuyt's News Talk alongside Trump surrogate Jeannemarie Devolites Davis to discuss the state of the race in Virginia.
Davis used a typical Trump strategy by attempting to minimize the concerning sexual assault allegations against Trump and undermining economic progress under Democratic leadership.
Here are some key highlights:
On Trump demeaning women coming forward with sexual assault allegations: "First of all, let's talk about issues - are you going to tell me that sexual assault isn't an issue? Sexual assault is a huge issue on college campuses all across Virginia. That is one of the reasons I am proud - extremely proud - of college campuses over Virginia like Liberty University, UVA - the Republican Chapters there have come out...against Donald Trump."
On economic progress under Democratic leadership: "Let's just look at Virginia - we have the lowest - under Governor McAuliffe and President Barack Obama - unemployment rate in the South East. That's a good thing!"
On Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine's commitment to fighting for all Virginians and Americans: "That's where I'm from, Highland County, rural Virginia...And you know what I love about Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine?...She says even if you're not for me I'm gonna be with you. I'm gonna get up every day, I'm gonna think about you, I'm not gonna forget about you, and I'm gonna work hard for you, and that's why I'm with her."
