As Trump attacks Virginia jobs and economy, unemployment continues to rise, and Virginia lost the CNBC “Top State for Business” ranking
Sears when asked about the attacks on Virginia jobs: “I’m just not going to participate. Because I want to talk about real issues”
VIRGINIA – Today, the Democratic Party of Virginia is announcing the “Real Issues” Tour, a series of events across the Commonwealth as campaign season kicks into high gear highlighting the devastating fallout of Donald Trump’s attacks on Virginia jobs that Winsome Earle-Sears backs. The tour will feature Virginia Veterans and workers who have been fired since Trump’s attacks on Virginia jobs began. During an interview with CNN when asked about Trump’s attacks on jobs, Sears said they aren’t “real issues.” Sears’ comments are now featured in a Spanberger for Governor TV ad slamming Sears for dismissing the attacks on jobs.
The “Real Issues” tour will launch in Richmond on September 4th with a press conference featuring elected leaders and Virginians highlighting the statewide impact of Donald Trump’s attacks on Virginia jobs.
Sears has a pattern of backing and downplaying the attacks on Virginia jobs. Sears has said she would help Trump “get the job done” and that she’s “supporting what the President is doing.” She previously was caught on tape saying: “the media is making it out to be a huge, huge thing… and I don’t understand why.”
“Regardless of what Winsome Earle-Sears thinks, Virginians indiscriminately losing their jobs, Veterans facing longer wait times and short-staffed VAs, and the Commonwealth’s economy declining are very real issues. The “Real Issues” tour will ensure that as Sears cheers on the attacks on Virginia jobs, the real issues Virginians are facing are heard and every Virginian knows that Sears will always put Donald Trump first no matter how devastating for the Commonwealth,” said DPVA Spokesperson Maggie Amjad.
