Richmond, VA — It has been another abysmal week for Donald Trump’s hand-picked candidate for governor of Virginia. First, Glenn Youngkin became the first gubernatorial nominee to skip the Virginia Bar Association debate in 36 years -- attacking the moderator, a highly respected journalist, as an excuse. Then, new reporting highlighted the fact that Youngkin is refusing to offer any policy specifics to Virginians.
Glenn is, however, promoting a tax plan that reports say would lead to devastating cuts to public safety and education. Youngkin’s desperate attacks on Virginia’s economy under Democratic leadership took another hit as well this week as CNBC named Virginia the Top State for Business for the second time in a row.
After all of that, another report called attention to Youngkin’s appalling refusal to answer for his extreme anti-abortion agenda.
To make matters worse, Youngkin was caught on camera frantically running away from reporters who had a simple question: why did Glenn choose to skip the time-honored tradition VBA debate?
WATCH THE VIDEO HERE:
Glenn Youngkin is running scared and hiding from questions because he knows his agenda is far too extreme for Virginia. Youngkin has already made clear he wants to ban abortion and defund Planned Parenthood, and he’s clearly afraid to answer for his toxic, far-right views.
“If Youngkin had the courage to answer questions about his out-of-touch and disastrous positions, he wouldn’t be hiding from debating Terry McAuliffe,” said DPVA spokesman Manuel Bonder. “Now, one question looms large over Youngkin’s flailing candidacy: what else is he hiding?”
