What You Won’t See in Glenn Youngkin’s New Carlyle Ad

by Democratic Party of Virginia

Richmond, VA — Today, out-of-touch billionaire Glenn Youngkin released a new ad about his time at the Carlyle Group in an effort to hide his astounding record of shipping American jobs overseas.

As reported by the Associated Press, Youngkin’s experience also includes unleashing rent surges and price increases on mobile home owners -- many of whom were then left to choose between food and medicine. While this new ad declines to address his record, Youngkin’s past words remain clear:

“I will own everything that happened at Carlyle, because I was there.” —Glenn Youngkin

Instead of lying to Virginians, Youngkin should answer for his abhorrent track record at the Carlyle Group. As put by Judy Pavlick -- one of the seniors whose lives were upended by the devastating rent surges -- “they have no conscience.”

“While Terry McAuliffe has a record of creating jobs and building a strong economy right here in Virginia, Youngkin has spent his career shipping American jobs overseas and harming working people across America,” said DPVA spokesman Manuel Bonder. “The contrast in this race could not be more clear: a proven leader committed to lifting up working Virginians vs. Donald Trump’s handpicked candidate who has spent his career killing American jobs.”
