Abortion is currently legal in Virginia – Sears’ answer confirms she would change this if elected
VIRGINIA – During last night’s debate, when asked about her support for an abortion ban, Winsome Earle-Sears said “my position is that the Commonwealth needs to come together and figure out where it wants to be.” Abortion is currently legal in Virginia and her answer suggests she would change that if elected. Sears’ answer comes as a constitutional amendment to protect reproductive freedom will be required to pass the General Assembly next year.
Sears has an extensive record supporting an abortion ban and vowing to do “everything in [her] power” to end abortion in Virginia.

Miss Earle Sears, you have supported both a 15 week and 6 week abortion limit. As governor, what would you advocate for?
