Trump has threatened to ramp up his attacks on Virginia's workforce amid the government shutdown

VIRGINIA – With Donald Trump slated to visit the Commonwealth today, Winsome Earle-Sears needs to stand up to Trump’s mass firing of Virginians and his threats to wreak further havoc on Virginia's economy amid the government shutdown. In an interview on NBC News Now, Winsome Earle-Sears repeatedly refused to call on Donald Trump to stop firing Virginians as he threatens even more mass firings. This follows Sears downplaying and dismissing the attacks on Virginia jobs that have been devastating for the Commonwealth.  
 
“At every opportunity, Winsome Earle-Sears has put her loyalty to Trump ahead of the Commonwealth from backing his healthcare and job cuts to refusing to stand up as he fires even more Virginians. With Trump visiting Virginia, Sears had the chance to directly tell Trump to stop attacking the Commonwealth's workforce and economy,” said DPVA Spokesperson Maggie Amjad.

Winsome Earle-Sears has defended Trump’s attacks on Virginia’s workforce and economy.

• In an interview on NBC News Now, Sears repeatedly refused to call on Donald Trump to stop firing Virginians as he threatens even more mass firings if the Republican-led federal government shuts down. Then when asked directly, Sears didn’t disagree with Trump on anything
• She told the Associated Press that she backed Trump’s efforts and has doubled down in her support.
• Sears has also said “I’m supporting what the President is doing.” 
• As Donald Trump attacked Virginia's workforce and economy, Sears declared she would help Trump “get the job done” if she were governor.  
   

Winsome Earle-Sears has dismissed and laughed off attacks on Virginia jobs over and over again.

• Sears doubled down on her support of the DOGE cuts by campaigning with Vivek Ramaswamy, chief architect of DOGE responsible for firing thousands of Virginians, and bragging about the endorsement.
• In a CNN interview, when asked if she supports Donald Trump’s attacks on Virginia’s jobs, Winsome Earle-Sears refused to answer and dismissed the jobs cuts saying she wants “to talk about real issues” instead. 
• Winsome Earle-Sears was caught on tape dismissing and laughing off the attacks on Virginia jobs saying “the media is making it out to be a huge, huge thing… and I don’t understand why.” 

Winsome Earle-Sears cheered on Trump’s tax bill and dismissed the concerns of Virginians being stripped of their health insurance.

• Sears praised Trump’s tax bill saying it “does so many great things” while it will strip 350,000 Virginians of healthcare and put at least six rural hospitals at risk of closing. 
• In an interview with CNN, when asked about the hundreds of thousands of Virginians who are facing healthcare cuts as a result of the Trump tax bill Winsome Earle-Sears backed, Sears outright lied saying “there are no Virginians who are going to lose Medicaid coverage in Virginia unless that's something that they choose” and then claimed “we're not taking anyone off the Medicaid rolls.” Sears then doubled down on her lies in an interview with WSLS. 
• Sears told the 350,000 Virginians who will be stripped of their health insurance and six rural hospitals facing closure as a result of the bill, “don’t panic.”
