RICHMOND, VA – In the latest round of campaign contribution disclosures, Glenn Youngkin’s PAC, Spirit of Virginia, reported a $100,000 donation from Steve Wynn, who is currently facing charges for allegedly operating as an unregistered foreign agent for the Chinese government.

In an appeal of an earlier ruling, Justice Department officials allege that Wynn lobbied then-President Donald Trump on China's behalf, without registering as a Chinese foreign agent.

Taking money from an alleged Chinese foreign agent is only the latest in Youngkin’s long relationship with the Chinese Communist Party. In 2005, his firm, Carlyle, acquired a stake in a company that sold munitions to the CCP, which they used to crack down on pro-democracy protesters.

“Youngkin talks a big game on China, but take a peek under the hood,” said Liam Watson, Press Secretary for the Democratic Party of Virginia. “Even a cursory examination of Youngkin’s business and political life show that he has no trouble cozying up to the Chinese Communist Party and its foreign agents, if it aids his pursuit of wealth and power.”
