Democrats Announce $4.9 Million Raised in Q3, $1.8 Million COH

by Democratic Party of Virginia

The Democratic Party of Virginia and Common Good VA PAC will report tomorrow a combined $4.9 million raised in Q3 for the November elections. The fundraising totals for the Democratic effort in the 2015 elections show the energy of Democrats across Virginia as well as the strength of Governor Terry McAuliffe, who has significantly surpassed the amount raised by former Governor Bob McDonnell for the 2011 elections.

The DPVA raised $3.5 million in the period from July to September and currently has $447,000 cash on hand. Common Good Raised $1.4 million and has $1.4 million cash on hand.

The $3.5 million raised by the DPVA includes $850,000 from the sale of the former DPVA headquarters.

"Our fundraising is a measure of our incredible grassroots strength and how excited Democrats across Virginia are to take back the state Senate and make gains in the House," said DPVA Press Secretary Morgan Finkelstein. "The Democratic effort is running strong because folks across the Commonwealth see a real opportunity to expand health care for all, ensure a fair living wage, and stop Republican attacks on women's health."
