Richmond, VA – DPVA Chairwoman Susan Swecker released the following statement following today's Virginia Senate debate between United States Senator Tim Kaine and Republican Senate nominee Corey Stewart.
“While Tim Kaine focused on providing solutions that matter to all Virginians, like healthcare, jobs, and solving the opioid crisis, GOP standard-bearer Corey Stewart spent his time defending Donald Trump on Russian aggression, Roy Moore on child molestation, and his own ties to white supremacists like Jason Kessler. Instead of offering any ideas that would improve Virginians lives, Corey - in the words of Sen. Kaine - 'Made it nasty, Made it personal, or Made it up.'
Tim Kaine made it clear- he puts Virginia first. Corey Stewart was also clear - he puts Donald Trump first. The contrast could not have been more striking.
Virginia Democrats look forward to joining Senator Kaine on his issue-focused campaign in every corner of the Commonwealth as we work together to bolster our economy, increase access to healthcare, and make a Better Virginia for All."
