Richmond, VA – Reminder: Jen Kiggans loved Congresswoman’s National Security record so much she ended up plagiarizing it and trying to pass off the argument as her own.
In a Daily Beast story last year, Jen Kiggans was caught red-handed taking direct phrases from Congresswoman Elaine Luria’s op-ed on National Security policy that argued for more defense spending to counter China's military buildup. Kiggans wrote a fundraising email with the plagiarized words 4 days after Luria released her op-ed.
The Daily Beast writes: “Marty Steffen, chair of the Society of American Business Editors and Writers at the University of Missouri School of Journalism told The Daily Beast she was ‘absolutely sure there’s a cause and effect’ between the two pieces of writing.”
“Jen Kiggans is plagiarizing Congresswoman Luria’s National Security policy because she knows her soft-on-China policy won’t cut it,” said DPVA Spokesperson Gianni Snidle. “Congresswoman Luria has been a leader on national security – securing billions in defense funds.”
