RICHMOND, VA – In a resounding triumph for the Democratic Party of Virginia and the people of Virginia, Democrats have secured not only the Virginia State Senate but also the Virginia House of Delegates, thwarting attempts by Governor Youngkin, Virginia Republicans, and MAGA extremists to seize total control of the state government.

Susan Swecker, Chairwoman of the Democratic Party of Virginia, issued the following statement in response to this monumental victory:

“This victory marks an historic moment for the people of Virginia. Our Democratic candidates, representing the diversity and strength of our great Commonwealth, have secured a majority in the Virginia House of Delegates. With the addition of the House of Delegates to our success in the State Senate, it is clear that Virginians have chosen a path of progress, unity, and common-sense governance.

I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all Democratic candidates who tirelessly campaigned, embodying the values and aspirations of the people they represent.
