Democratic Party of Virginia Chairwoman Susan Swecker released the following statement on Hillary Clinton's economic platform and Donald Trump's misguided policies:

"Donald Trump has bankrupted four corporations, praised the housing market collapse as an opportunity to profit, and put forward plans that would cause the next great recession and millions of job losses. Trump's tax plan would be disastrous for working families and homeowners while benefiting the ultra-wealthy.

"Hillary Clinton believes that we are stronger when our economy works for everyone, not just billionaires like Donald Trump. Virginia's economy is stronger when we come together to tackle the challenges facing hardworking families. While Trump's campaign has been focused on demeaning anyone who isn't like him, Clinton has been fighting for all Americans, regardless of economic status. Under her leadership, incomes will rise and the American economy will continue to thrive."
