Democratic Party of Virginia (DPVA) Chairwoman Susan Swecker released the following statement on the passing of Jack Gravely:

"Virginia has lost a champion in the fight for equality and justice with the passing of Jack Gravely. His legacy is defined by an impassioned commitment to combating racial inequality, whether it be at the helm of the state NAACP or broadcasted through the Richmond radio waves.

"Jack was a great friend who I had the privilege of knowing throughout his many years as an accomplished activist and radio personality. Our Democratic family sends thoughts and prayers to his family and friends during this difficult time."
